The Northern Michigan Environmental Action Council (NMEAC) is the regions oldest and best-known grass-roots environmental advocacy and stewardship organization. Founded in 1980, NMEAC’s mission is a simple one: “Preserving the natural environment through citizen action and education.”
NMEAC’s members are concentrated in the five-county region of Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Antrim, Benzie, and Leelanau, though support does come from as far away as Washington state.
The annual Environmentalist of the Year Awards is now in its 28th consecutive year; NMEAC is the only organization in the region to recognize the environmental work and advocacy of so many groups and individuals across our region. Nathan Griswold was recognized as the 2016 award recipient in the Business category. Inhabitect, LLC is thrilled to be recognized for the work we are doing in the Northern Michigan region as well as around the world.
