- GSI – This project incorporates Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) through the integration of green roofs, which help manage stormwater runoff, reduce heat absorption, and enhance overall sustainability.
Completed in 2024, the Otter Air Services hangar and corporate offices project showcases Inhabitect’s ability to execute high-end installations in demanding environments. This award-winning build, located at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, MI, combines innovative design with functionality, creating a standout space for the client.
Inhabitect’s work included the installation of a heated pedestal paver system with elegant porcelain pavers on the outdoor patio, which was designed to resemble the shape of an airplane wing. Overlooking the airport, this patio not only provides an eye-catching aesthetic but also offers year-round usability, even during Michigan’s harsh winters.
In addition to the patio, Inhabitect installed two green roof areas, integrating living architecture into the design. These green roofs add striking views and also contribute to the building’s sustainability goals by managing stormwater, improving energy efficiency, increasing property values, and adding vibrant, natural elements to the modern structure.
This project is a testament to Inhabitect’s commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and innovative solutions, and we are proud to have partnered on such an impressive and award-winning endeavor.
