Lime Lake is a smaller inland lake that is near the Sleeping Bear National Park. This property has a natural spring on site and the shoreline faces Southeast..The shoreline had previously been reinforced with smaller rip rap and other materials, prior to Inhabitect’s arrival.

The shoreline was void of vegetation and our customer contacted Inhabitect because they wanted to soften the shoreline and avoid any loss of land due to boat traffic, ice push and erosion.

The bioengineering portion of the project used biodegradable coir logs and erosion blankets, regionally sourced stone and gravels, and 100% native plants. Some were planted within the water and others in areas with specific shoreline and upland conditions. We worked closely with the owner to ensure the character of their lakefront was preserved while also adding a new flagstone patio, firepit and natural stone steps.
