As part of a complete modern renovation of this private residence, Inhabitect installed a custom designed semi-intensive green roof to complement the home’s bold architectural upgrades. Positioned over a large exterior structure integrated into the home’s layout,
the green roof serves as both a functional stormwater management solution and a striking visual feature.
Planted entirely with native species and select native cultivars, this rooftop landscape was designed for biodiversity, seasonal interest, and strong ecological performance. A low-flow irrigation system was installed to support plant establishment and provide supplemental water during periods of drought.
A unique oculus—a distinctive architectural element—required close coordination and precise detailing to ensure proper drainage and visual harmony.
The result is a high-performing green roof that supports native ecology, improves stormwater management, and reinforces the clean, modern aesthetic of the home’s overall renovation.
